The Clip Extender’s ten clipboards are certainly better than the Mac’s one, but there are still many times when it would be handy to have more clipboards to properly organize your clips. Well, now it's possible to configure ten sets of ten clipboards with 'CopyPaste Clip Sets,' a feature available only to registered users.
To use Clip Sets, first register your copy of CopyPaste. Then, Clip Set manipulation is accomplished using the Clip Sets menus. You can cause the Clip Sets menus to drop down or pop up in the following ways:
1. click on the clip set button in the Clip Extender Palette, or
2. pull down the “Edit -> CopyPaste Utilities -> Clip Sets” submenu, or
3. click on the Clip Set name in the title bar of the Clip Extender Palette, or
4. type F10 + #, where # = any number from 0 to 9. This hot key only works when the "Use F2,F3, F4 Keys" box is checked
From the menu, select a different Clip Set whenever you need a new set of ten Clip Extender clipboards. When you choose a different Clip Set, the previously selected one is saved automatically. You can think of this as a way to have easy access to 100 clipboards.
It’s easy to tell which Clip Set is currently active:
1. the name of the active Clip Set appears on the title bar of the Clip Extender Palette,
2. the number of the active Clip Set appears on the ClipSet button in the Clip Extender Palette,
3. the name of the active Clip Set is marked with a check on all menus.
From the preferences, each of the ten ClipSets can be given a descriptive name (i.e. Addresses, Names, Personal Info, URL’s, etc).
The menu command "Save Clip Set..." saves all ten clipboards in a Clip Set to a file on disk. Once you save a set as a file it can then be passed on and opened by other CopyPaste users. Saved ClipSets can be made available to others on a network.
Selecting the menu item "Open Clip Set..." lets you load an already saved ClipSet. Use this to open a previously stored Clip Set, or a Clip Set sent to you by another another CopyPaste user. This gives you the option of having different ClipSets which you can load at any time.
